Using a webstore should be easy to do. You, our customers, should be able to find what you are seeking with a minimum of time and effort spent. So we have attempted to be orderly in our arrangement of the stock in the webstore.


Once you've clicked on our webstore, the first thing you'll see from the desktop site is an introduction page that lists some features of our webstore. This is geared to our first-time user and gives some of the ways we have to search our store and a brief summary of ordering.


Close that page and you'll see a menu of named links, the first level of search that is visible in our desktop web store. On our mobile site, click open the mobile menu in the upper right corner and tap WEBSTORE. You'll see that intro page first. Then choose your link from the drop-down menu.


Each of these links leads to a collection of products. The big advantage here is that you don't have to search through thousands of products to find what you want. We have tried to arrange products logically within the various collections in our store. Our most frequently purchased products are usually first in the list. For example, if you're looking for a level one method book, it will be near the top of the page. Keep looking down the page for more products. If you get to the end of the display and see a button called "Load More," there are more products in the collection to choose from.


When you find what you want, just click on the product to open a description. Then you can add the product to your shopping cart. If a choice for instrument, size or strength is available, you'll see it in a drop-down menu below the item description. Band method books have the instrument choice in that menu. The same is true for reed strengths, some guitar strings, and other categories of products.


When you're ready to order, view your shopping cart. You can make any corrections to items or quantities here. We use PayPal as our payment provider. You can use most major cards (i.e., Visa, Mastercard, American Express, etc.). You don't need a PayPal account to complete your purchase.


Then choose your shipping method. If you want local pickup, click on the shipping method box and choose local curbside pickup. We will notify you when your order is ready for pickup. Of course you can always come into the store to pick up your order as well. We will pack and ship your order for an extra shipping charge via USPS if that choice is made. You will receive an email confirmation of your order and shipping method.


The site search also includes the webstore. That general search bar (white with a blue border) is located at the top of the front page on both the desktop and the mobile site. This search will give you products in the webstore as well as other references on the site. For instance, if you enter the name of your instrument in the search bar, everything on our site about that instrument shows up linked to where it appears on the site. This facility gives you a broader search than just the othert "Site Search at playtague.com" for more details on our general site search.

We have just redesigned our site search function. You can now search our entire website for products, supplies, blog posts and teachers for your instrument. That search can really help focus on search results you want to see.


The site search bar is white with a blue border located at the top of the front page on both the desktop the mobile site. Logically, it's called "Site Search." Type in a search term to get going. Specific, single words work best (like guitar, trumpet, clarinet, saxophone, etc.). If you use a general word (like "reeds" or "strings"), you may be a while locating your specific accessories and other informationi. However, if your intention is to do a general survey, that idea works well, too.


Entering the term on the desktop site will give you a list of results right on the front page. If you want all results for the term, choose "all results." You will go to a "Search Results" page that lists all results in categories for you to select. Try it out! (This blog link will take you to the search results page.) Enter a search term in the search box or the search results box to see how it works for you.

Let us know how you like it. Like most internet facilities, you may get some results that don't apply to what you want. Just ignore those. During the winter, our shop is more available for customer repairs and service. As the spring progresses, that availability to individual customers begins to change.


Our repair work load is about to increase. This is so because we have repair contracts for school districts in Northern California that are active during the summer months. We have about five weeks before those instruments begin to arrive in greater quantity.


That school repair season lasts until around October. During that period, time frames for individual customer repairs and service are longer. They can be much longer depending upon the nature of your repair job.


Right now, we have more room to do your repair and service work. Just bring in whatever your musical repair and/or service need is for a free, no-obligation estimate. Our expert staff will give you an accurate estimate of what it will cost and how long it will take. Then you can decide when and how you want to proceed.


Take advantage of the room we have now in our shop. Beat the rush! We will soon be concentrating upon our school repair contracts. Now is the time to bring in that repair or service you've been wanting to have estimated and done!
